Michigan CPL Renewal Requirements
Michigan renewal applicants certify that they completed at least three hours of review and one hour of firing-range time. You must complete both within the six months immediately before applying.
Prime Defense provides the three-hour review, while you complete the range hour separately. Michigan generally allows you to apply up to six months before expiration and up to one year after expiration. However, if your prior CPL expired more than one year ago, Michigan no longer treats the application as a renewal.
