Your One-Day CPL Class Near Warren
Our Michigan CPL course includes five hours of classroom instruction and three hours of live-fire training. Students travel to an offsite partner range approximately 30 minutes from the classroom.

Firearms and ammunition are not permitted in the classroom. If bringing your own handgun, keep it unloaded and securely stored until arrival at the range. Ammunition used during class must be purchased onsite.
Directions From Warren to Your CPL Classroom
Your CPL class begins at 51261 Milano Drive, Macomb Township, MI 48042, inside the front office of L&M Tool Company. Milano Drive runs north from 23 Mile Road, between Hayes Road and Garfield Road. Our classroom is in Macomb Township, north of Warren.
Warren is a large city, so your preferred route depends on your starting location. Confirm the best route using the directions button and check MDOT Mi Drive for construction and traffic before leaving.
From Western Warren via Mound Road and Hayes Road
From neighborhoods near Mound Road, Ryan Road or western Warren, travel north toward the Hall Road (M-59) corridor. Use a suitable connecting road to reach Hayes Road and continue north toward 23 Mile Road.
At Hayes Road and 23 Mile Road, turn right (east). Watch for Milano Drive on your left, before Garfield Road. Turn left (north) onto Milano Drive and continue to 51261 Milano Drive.
From Eastern Warren via Garfield Road
From eastern Warren near Schoenherr Road or the Clinton Township border, take an appropriate northbound route toward Garfield Road. Continue north on Garfield Road toward 23 Mile Road.
At 23 Mile Road, turn left (west). Look for Milano Drive on your right, before Hayes Road. Turn right (north) and continue to the classroom address.
Parking and Finding the Classroom
Park in the lot at 51261 Milano Drive. Look for the Prime Defense class signs and enter through the front office of L&M Tool Company. Do not look for a separate Prime Defense storefront. If you need help finding the entrance, call 586-625-9744.
Arrival Time and Offsite Range
Please arrive between 7:45 and 7:50 AM for our 8:00 AM sharp start. Allow extra time for morning traffic through Warren, Sterling Heights and Clinton Township.
Following classroom instruction, students drive themselves to our offsite partner range approximately 30 minutes from the classroom. Range directions are provided during class.

Location and Schedule
Is your classroom located in Warren?
No. Our classroom is at 51261 Milano Drive, Macomb Township, inside the front office of L&M Tool Company.
Where should I park?
Use the lot at 51261 Milano Drive. Follow the Prime Defense signs to the front office of L&M Tool Company.
How far is the range?
Approximately 30 minutes from the classroom. Directions are provided during class. Students provide their own transportation.
How long is the CPL class?
Five hours of classroom instruction and three hours of live-fire training. Plan for approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Can beginners attend?
Yes. No previous firearm experience is required. Beginners and experienced shooters are welcome.
How old must I be?
Students may attend training at age 18. Michigan CPL applicants generally must be at least 21.
Firearms and Equipment
Do I need to own a handgun?
No. A loaner firearm is available at no additional charge.
Can I bring my own handgun?
Yes, if it meets class and range requirements. Keep it unloaded and securely stored until reaching the range. Firearms are not permitted in the classroom.
Can I bring my own ammunition?
No. Ammunition used during class must be purchased at the range.
Are range fees included?
Yes. Range and target fees are included. Ammunition is purchased separately.
Is the range lead-free?
No. We do not use a lead-free range.
Concealed Carry Classes and CPL Applications
Is a concealed carry class the same as a Michigan CPL class?
People often use these terms interchangeably. First-time Michigan CPL applicants must complete pistol safety training meeting Michigan's requirements. Our one-day course is designed to meet those requirements.
Can Warren residents attend?
Yes. Warren residents are welcome at our Macomb Township classroom.
Will I receive my CPL at the end of class?
No. You'll receive a signed training certificate after successful completion and then apply through your county clerk.
